A visual accent that sounds like the brand, even when the sound is off.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That was the ask from <a href=\"https:\/\/cube.video\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">CUBE<\/a>\u2014a video production company fluent in movement, tech, and human nuance. They already had a sharp visual identity and a site that held its own. What they needed was illustration\u2014not to decorate, but to explain. Not to impress, but to connect. They wanted us to make it personal. Make it feel like them. Oh, and include the dog.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Brief<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CUBE handles everything from live-action shoots to 2D animation, <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.tubikstudio.com\/creative-ui-design-concepts-3d-graphics\/\">3D<\/a> visuals, and metahumans. They know how to tell stories. But even storytellers need a few visuals that <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">don\u2019t<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> move, especially when it comes to content for blogs, social, or landing pages.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When they reached out to us, they were looking for\u2026 rhythm. A visual throughline. Something to bridge the gap between their crisp, tech-savvy presence and the messy, creative magic behind it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We knew it had to be:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Brand-cohesive (not brand-prison)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Emotionally warm, without veering into stock-illustration hell<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Modular, scalable, and readable at multiple sizes<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So we said yes. And made sure to give the dog a cameo.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sketch, Rinse, Repeat<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our illustrator on this one was Yaroslava Yatsuba. The process kicked off the way most good ones do: with low-stakes sketches and high-stakes overthinking.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She started in pencil\u2014or rather, stylus\u2014working fast, loose, and quiet. Using CUBE\u2019s own site as a reference, borrowing its tone, its angles, and logic. Yaroslava leaned into a flat magazine-style look, tapping into a muted, brand-aligned palette. Nothing too slick. You don\u2019t get to hide behind gradients or trick the eye with depth. Every line has to mean something, and every color has to earn its spot. We worked in a limited palette tied tightly to CUBE\u2019s identity. It was a weirdly liberating constraint, and it worked. The visuals started to speak the same language as the brand\u2014clean, clear, and just a little self-aware.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One of the illustrations showed a director mid-shoot, another an editor elbow-deep in timelines. The backgrounds weren\u2019t ornamental\u2014they were structural. They showed creative chaos in a way that still read as professional. A storyboard on the wall. A glass of something fizzy half-finished on the desk. It\u2019s in their welcome video, their Instagram posts, and probably in a Slack thread titled \u201cmood.\u201d It made sense to include it in the illustrations\u2014not as a mascot, but as a character.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So we did.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Not front and center, but there. In the corner of the frame. Tucked between frames. Watching over the creative process like a fluffy little executive producer.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s a subtle nod, but that\u2019s the point. These visuals weren\u2019t about reintroducing CUBE to their audience. They were about deepening the familiarity. But maybe we should.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Because when it\u2019s done right, it\u2019s not a style. It\u2019s a voice.
